As in past years, the Summit is growing and we expect the most ambitious cast of services providers, employers and volunteers than ever before. Here are some highlights for 2010:
- Workshops: We are bringing in the experts to provide hands-on workshops regarding issues surrounding Spanish Speaking Clients, Women and Reentry, Federal Pardons, Parole and Supervised Release, Child Support, Affordable Housing, Maryland Expungement and Reentry issues and a first of its kind workshop for the legal services community on the Collateral Consequences of a Criminal Record in the District.
- Pardon Clinic: As an alternative to expungement, clients will be presented with the opportunity to learn about their eligibility to apply for a federal pardon. Volunteer attorneys and law students will assist clients in beginning the process of completing their pardon applications.
- Resource Fair: PDS’ Offender Rehabilitation Division is leading the charge once again and organizing the largest community Resource Fair in the District. There will be representatives from multiple disciplines, including housing, employment, educational and vocational training programs, and other much needed services to assist our clients as their regain their lives.
