Open Casting Call for DC Residents Who are Interested Being Healthy and Living Well

I received this e-mail and would encourage my fellow DC Residents to become a star!  I would absolutely check out this opportunity however, I live in Ward 1.  So please let me know how about your experience.  First DC Department of Health and then who know’s what is next?!  maybe Hollywood!?

The DC Department of Health is hosting an open casting call for DC residents in Wards 3, 4 and 5 to participate as wellness coaches in a public health campaign. These coaches will strive to engage in physical activity, eat healthy, and refrain from smoking — all while encouraging their fellow community members to do the same.  As a wellness coach, they will be featured in campaign ads around the city and post content about their journey through Twitter.

All shapes and sizes are welcome and no previous experience in wellness is needed.  What is needed is a positive attitude and a desire support others on their wellness journeys.  These coaches will do whatever exercise/movement/sports that interests them, such as biking, walking, skating, playing basketball, yoga, etc.

DOH wants to make DC the healthiest city in the country.   We also want residents to know they can join any of the coaches, regardless of the ward they live in, their age or ethnicity, size or fitness level.

You can help with this city-wide effort by sharing this email with as many people as possible through NWtoSE.  The open casting call will take place on Saturday April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 441 4th Street, NW in the Old Council Chambers (Judiciary Square Metro).  For more information, go to www.healthylivingcoachesdc.com or email us at talentrecruit1806@gmail.com.
